Casey Connell

Coach & Mediator

Debt and divorce are two of the most stressful experiences a person can go through, and they often arrive at the same time.

Casey Connell is a coach and mediator who works with people through both. His clients range from those under real financial pressure, where payments go out every month and the balance barely moves, to those with steady income and ambition whose credit and cash flow cannot yet support what they want to do next.

Rather than applying a standard plan, Casey starts with an accurate picture: what is owed, at what rate, what it actually costs, and what the next ninety days require. From there the work may include shedding or restructuring debt, rebuilding credit and cash flow until the client is setting terms rather than accepting them, calculating what two households genuinely cost before anyone negotiates, preparing for attorney meetings, writing communication that lowers the temperature, and building parenting plans that fit a real life.

As a mediator he sits between two people and stays neutral. As a coach he is in one person's corner. He does not do both in the same divorce.

Drawing from certification as a divorce mediator, work as a personal finance coach, and a background in engineering and science at a national laboratory, Casey works methodically, with the numbers on the table and nothing hidden. He is the father of three sons, part of a family that includes members with special needs, and neurodivergent himself, which is why the plans he builds are designed to hold up during a hard month rather than an ideal one.

In 2025 he published a memoir, Why You Keep Choosing the Same Pain, about the patterns people inherit and what it takes to break them. He grew up in a house he would not wish on anyone and spent years learning how not to hand those patterns down.

His goal is not just to help people survive a hard season. It is to get them out the other side clearer, steadier, and holding better terms than they walked in with. That work runs from teaching young adults how to avoid the pitfalls of credit and debt, to digging people out of a hole that ends in bankruptcy, and everything in between.
